"Together we can serve the world in their quest to nourish, heal and practice eastern ways of seeing and experiencing life."
Fasting Culture — Keyur Patel, Alexei Levine, Anaal Ubaybabu
The project focused on deep and soulful partnerships with many diverse collaborators/partners. This effort was in conjunction with the Ayurvedic doctors as well as experienced content artists who are experts in applications in the science of life to their work.

Understanding a deep and meaningful vision

When we were approached to collaborate on this project, it was clear we would have to gain a new level of understanding which we’d never explored before; in Ayurveda.

This project was something which aligned with our philosophies and we were eager to get together to start exploring our inner selves.

A collaborative project from start to finish

The Fasting Culture team came over from Kerala (India) to meet with us and look at our approach to creating something which would have a meaningful impact. Little did we know at the time that this relationship would form into something very very special.

The project would lead to many daily discussions and deep philosophies and the knowledge we shared together was incredible.

Getting
Together
A strategy for multiple audience types with a unified sentiment

There is a surging trend for fasting currently, be it intermittent, ketogenic or spiritual and for us the goal was not to focus on the trends but the overall wellbeing of each person. From sleep, breathing, meditation to fasting and monitoring mental wellbeing.

We needed to have a platform which would scale across various levels of use, from the Ayurvedic guru to the health/lifestyle conscious.

We dove deep on the flows of each users needs, and the importance of onboarding each individual. Could we really change peoples habits?

“Due to the richness of the offering and the evolutionary potential of the same, mindful design of the color system and usage of it in the App design is extremely important”

Anaal Udaybabu

The challenge of colors

There is a deep meaning to every color and their connections to the fundamental 5 elements of Ayurveda (Dosha’s) while also being able to communicate a meaningful user experience.

The meaning of shapes and symbols

While each color has a special meaning, so do the shapes we use. Each combination of shape and symbol would define the users ‘Dosha’ so we focused on each simplification and meaning combination.

Understanding each persons bio profile and guiding them on their imbalances

For Ayurveda to be truly effective, we needed to look at how we could understand each persons constitution and the relationship to each Dosha. We didn't want the user to feel encumbered by the process, so added queues to discovery throughout educating on the effects on the body.

Onboarding
Collaborating with food photographers Hannah & Ryan and building an extensive library for recipes

There was a challenge for developing the idea that the individual ingredients were the primary focus, not the combination.

hannahwebsterphotography.co.uk

Photographer Hannah and Food Tech Ryan met with us and the team to develop a strategy to be the most effective way of delivering over 300 recipes, whilst still conveying the deep connections through the scenes.

There was also the challenge of sourcing some very exotic ingredients for capturing over 800 photographs!

We wanted to tie in breathing videos to nature and we looked at how flowers bloom, sensing new life as we breath. Along with the exercises, we created a splash video which encapsulated the essence of Fasting Culture.

We’re immensely proud of the outcomes for this project and just as importantly the relationships we built at the same time. Everyone involved has put their heart and soul into this thing and hopefully the results speak volumes.
